ArchITekt low-code platform in the insurance sector

Low code solutions are becoming increasingly diffused, finding application in the insurance sector too. The archITekt platform is one of suchs tool that is changing the way insurance systems are created and managed. In order to understand how archITekt is impacting this industry, it is worth first looking at what low code technology is and the benefits it brings.

What is low code?

Creating IT systems involves the work of many people e.g. developers, analysts, testers, managers etc. It is a complex process and there are many strategies that minimise the risks associated with project costs and the presentation of the progress of the solution. The use of agile methodologies significantly optimises the production process, but there are additional ways to streamline the process. These include low code solutions such as the archITekt platform. The product enables systems to be developed without the need to write code, based on drag&drop techniques, which significantly simplifies and speeds up the entire process. The use of the low code platform, or elements thereof, enhances the qualities of agile, iterative software delivery.

archITekt in insurance

Insurance systems consist of many different elements, such as the graphical interface (GUI), API, database, document generation, feeding the system with data from various sources, etc. The archITekt platform allows these elements to be configured using ready modules, eliminating the need for advanced programming skills.

Whether you need to build a new solution or want to extend the functionalities of your system, you can use the entire platform or only selected elements of it.

Using low code in the VSoft Insurance Platform

In the VSoft Insurance Platform product, designed for comprehensive policy processing in the leasing and dealer channel, several modules of the platform are used:

  • Algorithms module

One of the key components is the algorithms module, which enables the creation of insurance tariffs in a visual way. The user connects objects representing different data tables, conditions and validations, building algorithms by dragging and dropping elements. The possibility to test algorithms on an ongoing basis significantly speeds up the creation and validation process.

  • Document generation module (VDS)

Another important module is the tool for creating document templates, which integrates with Microsoft Word via a dedicated VDS plug-in. The user creates the framework of the document in Word by inserting the relevant elements from the toolbox, such as the policy number, customer address details or information about the vehicle. The ability to test templates on an ongoing basis enables fast and efficient generation of documentation.

  • Data processing module (VTS)

The data processing module VTS is an invaluable tool during data migration and cyclical feeding of the system. It enables the building of migration algorithms that take data from different sources, check its completeness, process it and integrate it into the new system. This process is supported by error reports that allow problematic data to be quickly identified and corrected.

Benefits for Insurance Companies

By implementing a platform for automation and process management, organisations can confidently address industry challenges, build a competitive advantage in the market and foster a culture of innovation. The use of low code technology means also:

  • Increased efficiency: Significantly reduced time to create and implement new systems and update existing solutions.
  • Flexibility: Ability to quickly configure systems according to current business needs.
  • Intuitiveness: Easy-to-use visual tools for creating algorithms and document templates.
  • Cost optimisation: Creation of system elements, such as tariffs or other algorithms, directly by business people, ultimately reducing costs and speeding up the implementation of solutions.

Summary

The modules presented above are the most commonly used elements in the insurance area, but these are not all the possibilities of the archITekt platform. The platform as a whole includes a number of additional modules that enable the creation of a comprehensive system independently, by preparing the graphical interface, database, integration with external systems, building an API or configuring cyclic tasks.

The low code archITekt platform allows to create both large IT solutions and build many smaller programmes tailored to the needs of specific production teams. In consequence there is no need to invest in different systems for different departments – all the applications needed can be built within a single, integrated solution.
